Let's suppose that you have used the computer for a while and that you have a lot of files and folders stored on your computer. You may be wondering why you have so little free space left on the hard disk, even though you haven't installed so many programs. In this case, it would be very useful to see which files take up the biggest amount of hard disk space. There is a good chance that those files are useless and can be safely deleted, thus saving a lot of space. The Windows operating system can somewhat display the size of the files stored on the hard disk but cannot arrange them from the largest to the smallest file.

Using Disk Size Manager will be a good idea in this case. The name states what the program does and that is managing files and folders stored on all the partitions, together with the free space. Thus, the user will know exactly where his free space gets to.

Disk Size Manager is a Windows application that can be installed even on older systems, as the requirements are low. When the program is initially launched, it takes a while until Disk Size Manager completely scans all the files and folders stored on the hard disk, depending on the number of them. After the scanning process is over, the files and folders will be displayed in an Explorer-like view and also as a chart, for easier viewing how folders are disposed on the hard disk, together with the free space.

Using the graph display, Disk Size Manager can quickly see which folder takes up the most hard disk space and which file contained by it is the largest. If a file is considered to be useless, it can be deleted directly from the program's interface. The program allows displaying all the sizes either in MB, or KB, depending on which one is best for the user.
